A collection of photographs from road trips, kayak journeys, and backcountry bushwhacks in search of British Columbia’s elusive ancient forests.
In the Pacific Northwest we are blessed to live amongst some of the largest flora to ever grace our planet. However, the remaining old growth forest in British Columbia is rapidly disappearing and roughly only 3 % currently remains untouched. Many of the trees in the following collection are amongst the largest known of their species – most of these are found on Vancouver Island. Very few areas of continuous old growth remain, and most big trees stand surrounded by young forest.
