Watersprite Lake and Dreadnought Peak

Dreadnought Peak was our first true winter camping experience on a fairly steep peak. We learned quite a lot and probably got a bit lucky!

We took the old trail up to Watersprite Lake – this was before the cabin and there was not a soul in site! We ended up camping about halfway up to the ridge leading to Dreadnought on a flat area near a clump of trees. We both thought we would freeze!

In the morning we climbed the ridge and followed it easily to the stunning views on the summit.

Heading home after a great adventure.

The descent was non eventful and we reached the car without incident, eager to come back to the Mamquam. This trip would be the beginning of many, many trips into the valley, solo, together, and with Daniel.
