πŸ’šI can’t find the words to explain what it’s like coming across a tree like this. My imagination runs wild thinking of all that this tree has witnessed; the shelter it has provided; the storms it has weathered. It stands as a testament to resilience and another time in history. It is a piece of magic, and in this case, surrounded by the decaying stumps of trees of equal magnitude.

It’s been 30+ degrees in Pohara and with a few days off and a good forecast we thought we’d head into the mountains to climb Mt. Arthur. Turned out mountain conditions are volatile just like at home. Insane wind gusts and the moisture that comes with being in a cloud for hours on end made it a little chilly, but we had the best time, enough clear sky for a little nap in the sun and a couple of summits, and we warmed right back up after the 1.5 hour drive back to our little beach town, where it was still 30 degrees.
Big boulders of Abel Tasman. The coastline of this park is so varied and beautiful. Boulders and beaches, granite cliffs backed by hills covered in tropical plants. Happy to be here. 🌴🐚🌊 @goldenbaykayaks #VisitGoldenBay #NewZealand
Happy to be kayaking in such a spectacular part of the world. Abel Tasman National Park.
